SNAP to Grow Urban Farm was founded in 2013 with a single mission to build community, and promote healthy lifestyle choices.
Founder/Director of SNAP to Grow Urban Farm
Jacqueline brings her passion and commitment of urban
agriculture to her community. She directs all of the programs at the farm which include farm to table gardening, cooking education and community related activities.
In addition to her work at the farm, Jacqui currently is the garden educator/farm manager for the Spring Creek Recreational Fund at Spring Creek Towers in East New York, where she has facilitated the creation and maintenance of the outdoor school garden and indoor
aquaponic/hydroponic lab. She is responsible for the design, maintenance and implementation of the year round garden curriculum for grades pre-k to 8th. The curriculum incorporates natures notebook, the Journey North, the Edible Schoolyard NYC and Life lab with a specialized STEM based hands-on aquaponic component.
Jacqui is a graduate of the GROWNYC FarmRoots and Beginner Farmers program, as well as the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens - Master Composter Program.
Thank you to our friends and volunteers who have come to the farm and contributed to the sustainability of our urban green oasis.
